Hi! It’s Carly Tee and I’m so excited to be here on The Stamp Market blog! Aren’t the new November stamps & dies so gorgeous?! The new Botanicals have me especially over the moon! They are so fresh and versatile!!! Today I want to share 3 cards I’ve made with the Botanicals as the star and glassine as a fun addition. Glassine is such a pretty way to add softness and dimension! I’m currently in a purple mood, but holiday colors could turn these cards into beautiful wintery Christmas cards very easily! And if you don’t have glassine on hand, try vellum or even wax paper from the kitchen.
Glassine makes a beautiful overlay, muting the color of the leaves just enough to make the bloom “pop”!
The solid leaves are stamped in green, with a little pool on the ends. The outline leaves are stamped on top in black. A bloom, stamped in shades of purple and die cut, is adhered to the glassine overlay. The glassine is cut the same size as the card, folded over it and secured with gold thread. And a quick tip for stamping on glassine, make sure to use a permanent multi-surface ink like StazOn.
Glassine makes a great shaker window and the large bloom from the Botanicals set is such a fun shape for it!
For this shaker card, Copic markers and gold Nuvo Drops add a little detail to the flower center. Inside the shaker are gold confetti sequins. I love the way the glassine softens the shine of the sequins and gives the card a dreamy quality.
Glassine is also beautiful for shaped accents like leaves.
The leaves are stamped on glassine, not-so-fussy cut and placed underneath the bloom. The background is the swoon-worthy Dotted Background stamp, stamped in green and pool.
Thanks for stopping by and hanging out with me for a bit!
