We survived Monday and Tuesday is here with a fun little surprise. We have the incredibly talented Rubeena aka Rubznaz sharing her love of cardmaking with us today and you will not be disappointed. This girl is a creative force and we are honored to have her sharing with us today!
Hi, it's Rubeena from http://www.arareruby.com" and I am so excited to be a guest designer for The Stamp Market today. I created a bunch of cards for you, using some of the stamps and dies from the March 2018 release. Actually, I had about sixteen cards I almost made, but I'll focus on just six today! :)
I fell in love with Framed Floral the moment I saw it and was happy to use on all my cards. To start, I wanted to do basic stamping and coloring with Copic markers.
I stamped the large floral image from Framed Floral two times and cut it using the coordinating dies. I colored them both with Copic markers. For one card, I created an ombre blue distress ink background and for the other card, I used a negative die-cut panel to mount over the flower image. These were clean and simple designs to show off the beautiful flower. The sentiments are from Mini Messages.
For the third card, I created another ink-blended background on my card base but in a very light color (Tattered Rose). I stamped and die-cut some of the smaller floral images from Framed Floral and colored them with Copic markers. I mounted them over the card with foam tape and added sentiments from Kindness Noted and Many Thanks Stamp & Cut Bundle. I finished it off with some clear droplets.
Some of my inspiration definitely comes from other crafters, and one new method I've been working with are stamped backgrounds. I used the small images from Framed Floral and created a background with them. I colored in the images and the rest of the card with Copic markers. I finished it off with a sentiment from Just Wonderful and some clear droplets.
Of course, I could not pass up a floral set without watercoloring it. I stamped some of the images on watercolor cardstock for my background as well as on a separate sheet so I could mount some cut images for dimension. I watercolored them with my Mijello Mission Gold watercolors and added some black and white paint splatters. The sentiment is from Mini Messages
For the last card, I wanted to use the framed floral image. I stamped and cut it using the coordinating die. I colored it with Copic markers and stamped the 'hello' from the same set. For the background, I stamped the large image from Painted Background and added 'hello' in random places using a light ink. I added black, white and gold paint splatters, which is something I really enjoy as an element on my cards. I mounted the framed floral image in the center with foam tape. This card looks much prettier in person, trust me!
I sure hope you were inspired by my work. I love to try all kinds of styles so I wanted to show the different ways to use images from just one stamp set. Feel free to follow me on http://www.arareruby.com since I still have many more cards to share with you using the last release. I did not want to bombard you with TOO much inspiration today. :) Thanks so much for stopping by and a HUGE thank you to The Stamp Market for having me as a guest designer today. I'll be back on Thursday for more projects for you. Have a great day!
