How To Make DIY Shaped Butterfly Cards
Are you looking for a way to add a little something extra special to your next handmade card? Well how about using a butterfly die to create a shaped card?!
Not only are shaped cards adorable, they make perfect little tags for gifts or flowers. And they are super easy to create with The Stamp Market’s Big Butterfly die!
Start with a scored & folded notecard. Place the butterfly die just over the folded edge, secure with low-tack tape and run through die cutting machine.
By placing the die over the fold, this will create a folded butterfly card instead of 2 butterfly die cuts.
But what about the missing tops of the butterfly wings? No problem! Just cut another butterfly die cut to put on top. I cut mine from glitter paper and added a little more color with inks & a blending brush.
Make sure to let the ink dry for a few minutes.
Then adhere the glittery butterfly die cut to the shaped butterfly card. I like to use liquid glue so I have a little more “wiggle room” to get everything in the right place and lined up perfectly.
Decorate the butterfly card with the Big Butterfly coordinating stamps, rhinestones or whatever your heart desires! I left my cards simple, just adding the little butterfly body cut from black cardstock. To make the body extra sturdy, I cut 3 bodies for each card and adhered them together with glue pen.
