Hey there, crafty friends!
I’m squealing like a little pig today! Why, you ask?! Because Amy was so kind to invite me to guest over here on her blog today and I couldn’t be more thrilled!
Let’s get right to the cards, because the products in the April release deserve all the attention, am I right?!
You can make such eye-catching cards by mixing and matching some of these newer products with the products from previous releases. One of my favorites from the April release is the Skinny Upper Alpha dies! Just create a background, glue on your custom message, and VOILA! You’ve got a fabulous card to give away.
For my first card, I inked up the Jumbo Criss Cross Background stamp with white pigment ink and stamped it on to dark blue cardstock. I also cut the word “hello” from white cardstock several times and glued the letters together and set them aside. I then went to work on the leaf portion of the card. I stamped several images from the Botanicals set with various shades of Catherine Pooler ink, and then cut them out with a “faux-die cut” look. This is my favorite way to save money on dies but yet save time on fussy cutting–it’s the perfect happy medium!!
After I’d cut out the leaves, I glued them on to the card panel, and then cut and glued some complimentary-colored cardstock strips along the edges to give a finished look before applying some Clear Tonic Nuvo glaze.
I incorporated all the same processes and techniques with this next card, but changed the word to “thanks.” I also switched around some of the color schemes of the card and then obviously switched the orientation to make a portrait card rather than a landscape card.
I hope you all are enjoying the new products! You can find them all here and don’t forget to re-visit some of those previously released items and give them some love!
Thanks again to Amy for having me on the blog today, and I hope you’ve been inspired to give some of these looks a try.
