Hi friends, it’s Seeka here and I am so thrilled to be a guest on the blog today!
There are so many amazing stamps and dies in the May release! Have you picked your favorites yet? I love them all and for today’s card, I used the gorgeous Bouquet of Kindness stamp set and coordinating die, a sentiment from the A Few Words stamp bundle, and the Scalloped Notecard die.
I started by using a light gold embossing powder to heat emboss the large Bouquet of Kindness floral image onto bristol smooth cardstock. Then I smooshed Squeezed Lemonade and Candied Apple Distress Oxide inks onto my glass work surface and used a water brush pen to pick up the ink and watercolor the blooms. For the leaves, I used Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn. I let the panel dry before using the coordinating die to cut out the image.
I chose “thinking of you” from the A Few Words stamp set and used white embossing powder to heat emboss the sentiment onto white cardstock. I used a foam blending tool to blend Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide Ink over the sentiment and then cut it out using the coordinating die.
For the background, I die cut a piece of white cardstock with the Scalloped Notecard die. Even though this die creates a score line in the middle of the cut panel, so that you can easily fold it into a sweet little notecard, I found that I could use a bone folder to soften the score line so that I could use the panel unfolded, as a scalloped rectangle. The score line is almost impossible to see! I added a bit of Abandoned Coral ink around the card by brushing the foam blending tool over its edges.
To assemble the card, I adhered the scalloped panel to a card base and then used foam tape to pop up and adhere the floral image and the sentiment. And there you have it!
Thank you so much for visiting and I hope you have a lovely rest of the day!
